Owens Improves to 4-0 with Rubber City Victory

On a night that a trio from Youngstown was supposed to invade Akron for Rubber City Fight 2, only one fighter from Youngstown ended up with a match on the card.

Ashton Owens did Youngstown proud as it's lone combatant at the Tadmore Shrine by making quick work of his opponent, Ben Cottrell of Uhrichsville, OH in a 175-pound matchup.

Owens, who is trained by Vinny O'Neil at Southside Boxing Club scored a majority decision over a game Cottrell en route to improving his amateur record to a perfect 4-0.

This is the second straight victory for Owens who scored a third-round stoppage over Taylor Cahill of Pittsburgh two weeks ago in Campbell at the Palermo Center.

Owens will look to stay busy as he will participating in the upcoming Cleveland Golden Gloves which kicks off on April 20th and will be held at the Brookpark Recreation Center in Brookpark.
