Colon's victory which advanced him to
the Silver Gloves National Tournament.
Brayan Colon, 14, will be representing Youngstown in the 2018 National Silver Gloves Tournament in Kansas City during the first weekend of February.
A student at Williamson Academy, Colon advanced through the state tournament a week ago in Cincinnati before securing a spot at nationals this past weekend in Philadelphia while fighting at the 145-pound weight limit.
The Silver Gloves National Tournament which is sponsored by Ringside will host some of the best youth amateur boxers ages 8-15 from across the country.
Colon, who trains under Vinny O'Neill at Jack Loew's Southside Boxing Club will now head to suburban Kansas City in Independence, Missouri on the weekend of February 3rd at the Hilton Garden Inn with the hopes of bringing a national championship back to Youngstown.
