In the co-main event, Pittsburgh's Matt Conway improved to 11-0 as he defeated Jorge Munguia of Tegucigalpa, Honduras in a six-round lightweight contest which turned out to be the most entertaining bout of the evening.
Conway, 22, started to distance himself from Mungula on the scorecards in the second round by landing multiple hard combos and working the body well but Mungula (12-11) always answered, even on wobbly legs.
As the fight wore on, Conway's skillset and power showed to be superior, but the 28-year-old Mungula continued to show his granite chin and the heart of a lion in staying off the canvas, even fighting back in the final round after eating a massive left.
Conway won on all three judges scorecards by scores of 60-54, 60-54, and 59-55.
With the victory, Conway is starting to enter the conversation as one of the top rising lightweights in the
United States.
