Regional Roundup

- Ryan Martin, who was born in Akron but raised in Tennesse, and now relocated back to northeast Ohio in Cleveland, defeated Francisco Rojo this past Saturday in Las Vegas on the undercard of the Golovkin-Alvarez fight.  

Martin, 24, improved his record to 20-0 with the split decision victory and claimed the vacant WBA Inter-Continental Lightweight Title and the WBC Continental Americas Lightweight Title.

This was the first time Martin has appeared on a PPV telecast.


- Cleveland based undefeated boxer and former USA Olympian Terrell Gausha celebrated his 30th birthday last week on September 9th.  Gausha is currently in training for the biggest test of his career when he faces Erislandry Lara in a Showtime televised fight for the IBO World Super Welterweight Title and the WBA Super World Super Welterweight Title on October 14th in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.


-  Amateur boxing will return to Pittsburgh this upcoming weekend as the Pittsburgh Boxing Club located in Mt. Washington presents Southside Showdown III at the Sokol Club located at 2912 E. Carson Street in Pittsburgh on Saturday, September 23rd.  For more information contact iatse3@gmail.com.
