Popo Salinas Set To Headline June Pro-Am Event

Alejandro "Popo" Salinas, 22, will look to continue his climb up the rankings as he will headline the June 9th card at St. Lucy's Palermo Hall in Campbell being put on by Jack Loew and the Southside Boxing Club.

The 7-1 Salinas who made his pro debut 2014 will take on 6-2 Jairo Vargas from Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Vargas, 29, will look to bounce back from a November loss to Bill Hutchinson in Pittsburgh his last time in the ring. 

Also fighting on the professional portion of the card will be a pair of undefeated Cleveland natives, Thomas Mattice and Montana Love.  Mattice, 26, will come into Youngstown with an 8-0 record while Love will come in with a 4-0 record.  

Also appearing on the card will be 2-0  Ohio native Jose Rodriguez Jr.  Rodriguez, 22, has won both his bouts by KO.

Appearing as amateurs will be Liberty native Ryan Williams and Boardman native Jackson Behun.  Behun, 13, has been impressive his last couple fights under the direction of trainer Vinny O'Neill.

Also appearing on the card making his amateur debut will be 12-year-old J. Dent.  

Tickets which can be purchased at Southside Boxing Club or at the door range from $25 for general admission to $50 for ringside seating.  Tables of 8 can also be purchased for $400.
